Billing
Ciaomatic is a paid product: you pick a plan, and that plan covers a phone number and a monthly allowance of call minutes. A plan is required before an agent will answer calls or before you can buy a phone number — there is no free trial. You can enter a promo code at checkout.
Ciaomatic is in closed beta, so access is invite-gated — but the billing below is live and real charges apply.
Plans
Every plan includes a bundle of call minutes each billing period plus one or more phone numbers. Minutes beyond the allowance are billed as overage, per started minute.
| Plan | Price | Included minutes | Overage / min | Included numbers |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | $29/mo | 100 | $0.30 | 1 |
| Pro | $99/mo | 500 | $0.25 | 3 |
| Business | $299/mo | 1,500 | $0.20 | 10 |
Included minutes reset each billing period and don’t roll over. Overage is metered per started minute (a call that runs into a new minute counts that whole minute).
Phone numbers
- Included numbers — the plan allowance covers any standard local number up to a moderate rental, which includes the US, Canada, and most of Europe (including Spain). Starter includes 1, Pro 3, Business 10.
- Extra numbers — beyond your allowance, each additional standard local number bills a monthly rental (from $5/mo), shown before you buy.
- Premium-cost countries — a handful of countries have high carrier rentals and never count toward the allowance; they always bill their monthly rental, from the first number. The exact price depends on the country and is shown before you buy, then added to your subscription (prorated for the rest of the period).
- Numbers you already own — forwarding, SIP, and ported numbers set up via Bring your own number don’t count against your plan allowance. The exception is porting: once a number is ported in it becomes a normal Ciaomatic number and is billed like any other.
A few countries aren’t available for self-serve purchase — either their regulatory requirements aren’t met yet, or their carrier rental / per-minute call cost is too high to sell at a standard price. When that’s the case the Numbers page shows a contact-us state instead of a price. Reach out and we’ll help you get set up (including with your own number, which sidesteps the rental entirely).
Test calls
Calls placed with the Test call button are flagged as test traffic and are never billed — they don’t consume your included minutes or count as usage.
Switching plans
You can change plans at any time from the Billing page. The switch takes effect immediately and is prorated:
- Upgrading charges the prorated difference right away.
- Downgrading applies a prorated credit to your next invoice.
Payment methods, invoices, and cancellation are handled through Manage billing, which opens the secure Stripe customer portal.
Currency and tax
Prices are charged in your billing country’s currency where we support it (EUR for eurozone countries; USD everywhere else). Set your billing country on the Billing page before you subscribe — it’s fixed for the life of the subscription and can’t be changed once you have an active plan. Prices are shown and charged excluding VAT / sales tax, which is added where applicable.
Usage limits
- You get a warning email when your usage crosses a soft threshold, which you can configure.
- Every plan keeps answering past its included minutes and bills the extra as overage — no plan hard-stops by default, so a busy day never sends your callers to a busy signal.
- If you’d rather cap spend, set an optional monthly spend limit (in your billing currency) on the Billing page. Your plan base fee and number rentals are always covered; once projected spend would exceed the limit, further overage-billed calls are refused for the rest of the period. It’s off by default on every plan.
- With a spend limit set, the Billing page shows your projected spend this period, and you get an email at 80% of the limit and another when the limit is reached.
